Reality is not fixed. Reality changes. Things change. But that doesn't mean you need to fluctuate emotionally or mentally with the winds of the day.
The moon changes your mood. Weather changes your mood. Sleep and diet and words and alcohol and coffee change your mood. Your posture changes your mood and so do people. So there's plenty of variables that can change your mood. The question then, is how do you stay in a good space?
Answer: create routine - daily ritual.
Here are just a few suggestions:
Before sleep, fill your mind with the thoughts you would love to wake up thinking. Fill your mind with thoughts you would love to think all night long. Fill your mind with the thoughts of success and love and then dream those thoughts through the night and wake up with them. Go back over the day past and recall the day hour by hour and change any situation that displeases you into a learning and gift. Go to sleep with the day past completed, filled with love, filed under "another great day in the life of me, another step closer to my dreams."
Every great artist, speaker, singer, performer, sports star has practiced the process of thought control, NLP or other hypnosis to inject thoughts at night into their mind. There are even tapes for "subliminal suggestion" that can play all night. If you look at your emails and news, Facebook and Twitter before bed (1 hour) then you are surrendering your relationship, career and self respect to the whim of the web, a space I feel to be toxic and trivial. Stay away from digital media for one hour before bed.
Start the day at the same time everyday, set a program and do it regardless. Rain, hail or shine. Do not be influenced by the weather or the mood or how much sleep you had last night. Don't blame the baby or the people next door. Fix your programme and stick with it. In the end you will thank yourself and me.
Too many people blow with the wind and yet those same people want outcomes in their life that they are fixed on. They fix the outcome but they vary the process to match their mood, the weather, the time, their partner in bed. They fix the result but vary all else to suit their mood. Mood does not create anything. In fact mood is a variable you can adjust. So, adjust your mood, fix your routine and do not bow from that.
Eat the same meals daily. Life is not a diet nor is it the diversity of food we may seek in every restaurant in town. The senses must become your slaves, not the other way around.
If you seriously want to bring the best of you to the world, body, mind and spirit, then I would say "fix food, fix, exercise, rise early, fix mood, fix attitude, fix work, fix spiritual practice, fix lunch time, fix sleep, fix your environment." and from that, live Inspired by your Purpose.

Before sunrise your mind is still asleep and your heart (spiritual self) is still awake. I recommend a morning ritual that goes something like this:
1. Before you leave the bed, don't speak and make sure your alarm doesn't shock you. Set a second alarm in case you sleep through the first or fall back to sleep (snooze). Lie there on your back and go over your body in your mind thanking everything you can imagine, your spine, heart, lungs, ears, eyes, hands, feet, blood, mouth, tongue, teeth, toes, knees, bum, colon, mind and the list is huge and beautiful. We so often miss the greatest meditation, ourselves, and gratitude for it.
2. Review your visions. These are your future and it is great to fill your heart with those visions either read or simply imagined. Remember to ground the vision rather than get hysterical about a fantasy. Just see the vision, without excitement or emotion.
3. Go over the day ahead with a different mind. Replace "exercise" as a to do on your list with "celebrate life." Replace "go to work" with "share the world" and replace meeting with partners with "change the world" - learn how to spin your day into an inspired day just by changing labels.
4. Send some love. Learn how to think about those who need some love in the world and send them yours for healing. A whole city might be struggling, or children somewhere. Skip over your family unless there's a real problem because you can't be a prophet in your own home and instead, reach out and send some love to the world. Trust that you can really do this.
This before wake ritual takes about 5 minutes at the most.
